We can only apologise for having to suspend the use of the Association’s Minibus. We know how important this service is to you, not only for shopping but also the Coffee Mornings. We know that you look forward to meeting your friends and for some this is may be the only opportunity but with the Coronavirus we had to this make this disappointing but very serious decision.
As a committee we take our responsibilities to you and our volunteers seriously and we have a duty of care to ensure that all is well during your time with us.
If you have issues in getting to the shops or you become aware that one of your neighbours is requiring support with their shopping during these difficult times, please ring John on 268768.
The Residents’ Association run a number of regular shopping trips for members to local supermarkets and to Chichester. The service is door to door making it easier for those people who are less mobile and gives more than adequate time for people to do their shopping. Each trip allows at least an hour at the shops to ensure you have plenty of time to get what you need. Here are the services on offer;
Bognor Regis shops and Morrisons
We go to Bognor town centre and Morrisons every Tuesday at 9:00am. Unfortunately the bus has to stop in Morrisons car park, so you must be able to walk from the car park to the entrance of Morrisons, as well as walk round the store.
Marks and Spencer Simply Food in Chichester
We run one bus at 9:30am to go to M&S Simply Food on a Wednesday every four weeks.
Lidl and Matalan in Bognor Regis
We run the bus every two weeks with the dates chosen not to clash with the minibus being used to take people with walking difficulties to the Coffee Mornings. We pick-up from 9.00am and if there is sufficient demand, we run a second bus picking up from 10.00am. The bus normally runs on Thursdays
These will be held on the following dates and the minibus will be running to pick up those people who need assistance to get there;
Tesco in Bognor Regis
We run two trips to the Tesco store every Friday. The first pick-ups start at 9:00am and the second start at approximately 10:00am.
These trips are very popular, so please book early. We maximise the number of people on each trip but you may have to go on a waiting list if there aren’t enough spaces available. Typically we will call wait-listed people around 6.00pm the previous day if spaces come free.
In order to help with the costs of running the service we ask for a donation of £2 per person for all trips.
Please note that to be able to use the minibus, you must be a member of PDRA, live within the Association’s boundary and pre-book your trip.
