Restoration began when present owner, Penny Streeter OBE, acquired the estate in 2017. Penny and her team are dedicated to restoring, maintaining and further improving the gardens and buildings so that the public can once again experience their beauty and special qualities.
Visitors can discover the historic beauty of the restored estate and explore a wide range of features including the unique dolls’ house exhibition and the rare colony of wallabies, wildfowl and huge carp in the seven ponds. There is an abundance of fascinating fauna as well as flora together with woodpeckers, herons, kingfishers, wagtails and even buzzards nesting in the giant Redwoods from California.
A variety of refreshments are available at the self-service Clock tower Café and Farm Shop and the self-service Courtyard Café.
